(Photo from: Kit Bajar Bakarashi)

Maki Eve Mercedes of Venezuela, was hailed as the new Queen 2010. She got the highest title for the night as Queen Universe. The title for Queen World and Queen International went to Miss Malaysia and Miss Italy respectively. Other winners were Miss Mexico who got the 2nd runner up place and Miss Ethipia who placed 1st runner up.

Last year's Queen Universe Rain Marie Madrigal and the other two title holders Miss Lebanon and Miss Spain passed on the crown to a new set of Queen Beauty titlists. The event was organized by the Clothes for Life foundation headed by Ms. Cary Santiago. The evening was graced by Miss Universe 1973, Margie Moran Florendo.

Truly before the night ended, everyone bowed down to the Queen!

Cebu bows down to Queen of Cebu 2010

(Photo taken from: Queen of Cebu Profile in Facebook)

In a place where beauty flourishes in almost like a day to day basis, its no longer quiet a shock that Cebu can put up a show that will not only promote what the world has often perceived as beautiful but beautiful among those who would one can consider as alternatives. Last year, Clothes for Life Foundation organized QUEEN of Cebu 2009: A PAGEANT FOR ALTERNATIVES. The event became a huge success as Cebu's best designers, photographers, choreographers, beauty experts and stylists have gathered round as Cebu bowed down to its Queen. Indeed, the pageant crowned three deserving beauties Queen of Cebu World was crowned to Miss Marianne Arguelles, Queen of Cebu International was crowned to Miss Paula Gerinea and the whole Universe was ruled by the obvious winner Queen Rain Marie Madrigal.

The success of last year's Queen of Cebu raised the clamor for Cebu to once again take on the universe and crown its new queen. And this year on November 6, 2010 at the Pacific Grand Ballroom of the Waterfront at 7:30 PM, 21 Goddesses will gather as they come and conclude the show with only one Venus to be hailed as Queen 2010. Tickets will be available at P1,500; P800; P300 and P150. True to the Beauty Pageant's Creed of Beauty with a Purpose, all proceeds will go to charity specifically the Little Lamb Children's Center. See you there because Everyone bows down to the Queen!!!

Cebu Gulps

After hours of work, some of us here in Cebu would like to just unwind and chill out and enjoy some refreshments and relax the night away in any of our favorite pubs, lounges, cafes and even local convenience stars. From coffee to cocktails, there are a lot of choices the Cebu City can offer. I think in the Island province alone there are around more the 6 companies of coffee shops both international and local. There are also a number of lounges that people can choose from.

One favorite of mine is Formo. It is located at Banilad Town Centre which is open daily 6PM onwards. The place offers a variety of cocktails and their menu is a must try! This month in honor of the Breast Cancer Awareness together with the Eduardo J. Aboitiz Cancer Center, Formo is bringing PINK FOR A DRINK: cocktails for a cure. Apart from their regular menu of cocktails, they are adding 4 drinks in pink. These drinks are The Pink Soda, Pink Martini, Raspberry Mojito and the non-alcoholic Shirley Temple.

Isn't it nice to enjoy your cocktail while helping those who are in need?
